We are miners of Gemstone in Western Australia, specializing in Marra Mamba Tiger Eye mined from our own lease (claim) on the Nammuldi Ridge near Mt Brockman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. A rare piece of land, one of only a few leases left producing Marra Mamba Tiger Eye. Marra Mamba Tiger Eye is widely regarded as the "Rolls Royce" of Tiger Eye. Often sandwiched between layers of Hematite and Magnetite, with red, yellow, and green Jaspers making it an extremely attractive Gemstone.
We also search and fossick for other Gemstones and specimens while prospecting, and in particular we are looking for Septarian nodules or concretions. These rare specimens are only found in certain geological settings of the West Pilbara.
Unearthing these rare and spectacular specimens is exciting. They were created by one of the most ancient and primitive lifeforms, a microbe called Archaea. These have been dated as being between 2.9 billion to 3 billion years old in published peer reviewed scientific research papers. The Pilbara Craton is geologically one of the oldest known places on the planet, the age is estimated at 2 .7 - 3.8 billion years old maybe older.
Mining has been completed for the 2026 season. It was a long way there to the mining lease and a long way back but it was a very successful mining season this year. I have lots of Marra Mamba Tiger Eye to process along with other Gemstones.
I did find some Septarians and some very pretty Stromatolites which I will cut and polish now that I am home and back in the workshop
Unfortunately mining companies are locking up vast parts of the Pilbara restricting access, so it is becoming harder to find Septarians or get access to open country.
